The Starting Point
The price of gold changes many times a day. When every jeweller in the same bazaar calculates prices on their own, the same quarter gold coin or the same bangle sells at a different price from shop to shop; customers go door to door asking, and traders end up undercutting one another.
The Nazilli Goldsmiths and Jewellers Association wanted to put an end to this unfair competition. The need was clear: the association's recommended price had to appear at every member at the same moment and in the same way, the association had to decide how prices are calculated, and only the association and its members could use the system.
Our Approach
We built it not as a website but as a web application that needs no installation. The same screen opens on a phone, a computer and the television in the shop, and none of them needs scrolling.
On the live price board, bangles, carat gold, Republic coins and gram gold sit in one table; old and new coins (quarter, half, full, 2.5) in the other. Each product shows its credit-card and cash price, with the buying and selling price of pure gold below and a clock and the association's scrolling announcements on top. Prices refresh by themselves every minute, so the board can stay on the shop TV all day without anyone touching it.
The association's management sets the markup rule for each product and the credit-card rate from the panel; when a rule changes, every screen updates at once. Table headings, announcements and whether the board is public are also set from the panel. The association opens member accounts; the first password is shown once and members choose their own at first login. Every action is kept in a history log.
The Result
The application went live in 2026. Member jewellers show the same price board publicly on the televisions in their windows and shops; whichever member a customer walks into, they see the same recommended price.
How prices are calculated now lives in one place, in the association's hands. Changing a rule once is enough for the whole bazaar.
